Retention Rates

School of Business Retention Rates

According to IPEDS, retention rates measure the percentage of first-time, full-time undergraduate students who return to the same institution the following fall. For graduate programs, the retention rate measures the percentage of students registered in the fall who return the following spring. Our goal is to have an 85% retention rate.

UIW Hosts 2024 Business Startup Challenge

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the UIW H-E-B School of Business and Administration (HEBSBA) hosted its annual Startup Challenge. Since 2009, this 13-week competition has been held every fall semester, allowing students to develop a business model from idea to actualization. The competition is organized by Dr. Jose Moreno and Dr. Teresa Harrison, co-directors of the Beckendorf Family Center for Innovation and Global Entrepreneurship and is open to UIW students from all campuses and schools.

UIW MHA Student Team Takes First Place in the Trinity University Healthcare PRISm Pitch Competition

Each year, second-year students in UIW’s H-E-B School of Business and Administration (HEBSBA) Master of Health Administration (MHA) program participate in PRISm (Problems Require Innovative Solutions) Pitch Competition as part of their UIW MHA leadership and marketing courses. The Healthcare PRISm is a virtual pitch competition in which teams of health administration graduate students from across the country identify and validate a specific problem of their choice, then develop and pitch their concept for an innovative solution to panels of judges.

Assistant Professor in HEBSBA Publishes Manuscript

Dr. Yi Liu

Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems Dr. Yi Liu, in the UIW H-E-B School of Business and Administration, has published his manuscript “Connecting Perceived Effectiveness of App Evolution to App Engagement: A Technology Identity Perspective” in Information Technology and People (ITP). Liu worked with co-authors Dr. Xinlin Tang (Florida State University), Peigong Li (Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance), and Xuan Wang, (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) on the paper.
